Y2J is one of the first figures on this list that I watched from the virtual beginning of his career as a “smart” wrestling fan. I never even remotely thought any of Jericho’s career was anything but scripted, and I got to watch him rise from his humble beginnings (I didn’t see his earliest work, but I saw him in ECW, then WCW, before he really made his major splash in WWF).
This was one of my favorite early Jericho moments:
The man of 1004 holds. Classic.
Jericho has always been a joy for me because his personality makes me think that he and I would have been friends. We are into the same sorts of humor. We make the same sorts of jabs. He always entertained.
This was the moment I knew he’d made it:
He also did the almost unthinkable, becoming the first unified WWE undisputed champion.
In the time since, he’s done some of the coolest things he could to help people get over. Jerishow with the Big Show. Y2AJ with AJ Styles. His most recent run with Kevin Owens.
He managed to get over wandering the locker room looking for Goldberg. He made the Highlight Reel work in ways that such a segment hadn’t since Piper’s Pit.
And then… the List of Jericho made me love him all over again.
To me, Raw will always be Jericho. And Talk is Jericho will entertain me for hours.
If you’re not a fan of Jericho then you…
YOU JUST MADE THE LIST!
