The third card in my career draw this week is The Tower.
The woman in the black pantsuit fled across the quad, and the Gunslinger followed.
Wait. That’s the Dark tower. That’s on me.
Okay, here’s what the Tower means, according to my quick Google crash training:
Interesting. I think this might be a reflection on what has happened vs. what is happening. The last chapter of this saga of mine started with a dramatic upheaval, and I am now in the undertow of where that sea change took us. It’s not a bad thing, but hey, if you like stability, Alexander is all out of that.
Let’s look at the wrestler on the card. It’s one of my favorites, Seth Rollins. How Seth relates to my career is… kind of interesting.
Seth was a star in the WWE development territory, but only after a relatively solid young career as Tyler Black in the indies, including a run as Ring of Honor champion. He was a talented guy.
He was brought in with two other developmental guys– Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns. They were billed as the Shield.
But things didn’t quite go for the Shield how they were supposed to, and Rollins “sold out” to Triple H in order to curry favor. He ended up winning the championship, but only by the luck of the Money in the Bank briefcase. He didn’t get there on his actual merits, though his merits were considerable.
Then he was injured. And when he came back, he’d found himself, and he risked his “legacy” to stand up for who he was and what he thought he should do. And in the story he was redeemed.
But in spite of being the superior talent, he is still placed below Roman Reigns, someone who was handed his spot because the owner of the WWE likes him.
I can’t see a single parallel there. *smirk* Swing and a tarot miss. *blink, whistles innocently*
Just call me Phill Freaking Alexander.
