Day 146: I thought it was Sunday all day, so here's a Finn Balor card

Today’s card is The High Priest.
Here’s what I found out about it from Psychic Revelations:

General: This is a time to rely on your intuition and your inner knowledge, rather than your conscious mind or intellect. Pay attention to your dreams. Synchronicities are likely now. When the High Priestess appears in a man’s reading, she also often represents a woman that he will want badly; but whom he may not be able to get.

Work: It’s possible that a pleasant surprise will be coming your way soon in regard to work. This could even be a new job opportunity. You may come up with some new systems or processes that make your work life simpler and less stressful. Ignore workplace gossip and certainly don’t get involved in it.

There’s a certain theme running through these that seems accurate. Change, opportunity, change, evolution, change. Change. Change. Change.

So yeah, I see that.

Let’s talk about Finn Balor, particularly in his demon makeup, and about gender swapping the high priestess card.  I’m going to go ahead and say it: I like a guy who does a solid make-up and a guy who does a dual personality gimmick, but I don’t GET the appeal of Finn Balor/Fergal Devitt. I’m not saying he’s a bad worker, but it seems like in WWE and in NXT he’s been a man of like three moves. That sit-out dropkick he does is amazing. Bloody Sunday was always fun. But the “coup de gras” is just a two footed Curb Stomp to the tummy, and I haven’t seen nearly the skill I expected to from Balor.

I would rather see Tommy End as this card. And I’d rather see Aleister Black as Tommy End.

It might be that the card is apt, though, as the “change” of appearing in that demon makeup shows Finn is done playing around.

Maybe I should put on my war paint.
