Day 147: Who wants to walk with Elias?

Today is my final “drawing a card from the WWE Tarot that Julie got for me” post. Today’s card is The Hermit.

Here’s what my research tells me the Hermit means, via Kasamba.com

Whenever you come across the Hermit, whether in a card reading, or randomly in an article or in a dream in the form of an old wise man, know that your desire for real change is the main undercurrent in your soul. The Hermit’s archetypal powers are calling you. Here’s what you need to know before you act.

The Tarot is not only a psychic tool but also a mystic set of keys to different zodiacal times, universal truths, and ways to realize your true self. We recently entered Virgo, the season of grounded changes. The Tarot’s Hermit, associated with this time, is your guide on this leg of the journey. As the wise old man, his cosmic mission is to take you to your higher self.

Okay, so this fits really well with what I’ve been talking about the last week. Either Tarot is working, or every tarot card has a meaning that can be pretty easily manipulated to fit a period of profound change. I can feel that I’m being urged to look deep inside and figure out who I am under a bunch of noise and a bunch of assumptions that didn’t ring true. If only seeing that real me was as easy as drawing a card.

The wrestler on this card is the Drifter, Elias Sampson. He’s appropriate for the card, and fitting to my situation, because he doesn’t really fit in. Right now he’s trying hard to get himself over, to fit into the roster on the RAW side of WWE programming, but it’s not going so well. He’s become the accessory, the third wheel in a feud between the preppy rich guy (the Miz) and the “cool” guy (Dean Ambrose, who hasn’t been cool since he left the Shield).

As he asks each week, now I must ask myself… Who wants to walk with Elias?

Who wants to walk with Phill?

Tomorrow, back to the usual for this bloggy-type-space. Tarot has been fun. Check it out, everyone.
